West Fargo BMX was started many years ago with the purpose of increasing the opportunities for kids and their families to enjoy the great sport of bicycle racing and to have fun in the process. Our riders range in age from 3 years to you name it! We are sanctioned by the American Bicycle Association which has registered riders over the age of 60! So, as you can see what we do is indeed fun for the whole family. With each passing racing season we aim to grow our rider counts as much as we can. Over the past few years, with the help of the community and many dedicated volunteers, our rider counts have grown by an amazing 50%. With an excellent balance of both girl and boy riders we will continue to build our association, with the hope of strengthening our rider counts even more in 2011.
West argo BMX is currently housed on land provided by the West Fargo Park District. Our weekly night of racing occurs on Tuesday nights and we also stage normal single point races on the occasional friday. Throughout the race season we will also play host to 5 “Multi-Point” special races that will draw in riders from all over the region. We will once again host the ND State Finals at our track, which last year saw a rider count of 161. That was 161 riders and their families in our community spending money for the weekend!!
West Fargo BMX is consistently striving to provide additional opportunities for area families to come and race free with a one day free membership using bikes and safety gear provided by us. This is an effort to get more kids and their families involved in our great sport. BMX is also single parent friendly as the schedule allows you to participate where and when convenient. No matter which ABA track you race at, you always accumulate ABA district points. Plus, there are always many friendly BMX families willing to help out anyone needing assistance.
If you have not seen or heard,BMX racing is also the newest and latest event added to the summer Olympics. Yes, BMX is now an Olympic sport!! NBC is also in the 2nd year of a 4 year television contract with the ABA to cover some of the major national events. Our goal is to eventually build a program that is worthy of hosting a national event and perhaps even be covered by NBC!!
West Fargo BMX is currently operated as a non-profit corporation. Our current means of raising operating capital are by hosting races, membership fees, fundraisers, and donations. Our Association consists of a non-paid board of directors. The track director and all assistance are also non-paid positions. These people donate their time for their love of the sport and wish to give the opportunity to anyone that may wish to participate. We are an Association built on 100% volunteers.

The West Fargo BMX Association has three levels of sponsorships available. Each level of sponsorship will give the sponsor an individual color advertisement banner or sign that is posted during all race events. Sponsors will also receive acknowledgement from the race announcer before, during, and after all race events along with logo identification on www.westfargobmx.com along with a link to the sponsor’s website if they have one. Logo identification and website links will also be included on our Facebook page.
Sponsors will also have the ability to provide us with literature or other promotional materials to hand out at our events. We will lace these items at the registration table for all to see. We will do anything within our ability to help you promote your business if you partner with us as a sponsor of West Fargo BMX.
